The design by Doepel Strijkers Architects allows Celest's guests to transcend the ordinary world, to a special place far above the earth. In the De Zalmhaven building, the elevator is equipped with an animation that turns the guest into a traveler to heaven.
On the first floor where the journey begins, the dark blue of the earth with its oceans still dominates. Once on the 57th floor, Doepel Strijkers draws inspiration from the moon and the nighttime universe. The cocktail bar on that floor reveals the stunning view of Rotterdam, the bar itself blends seamlessly with the almost infinite space around it. In the cocktail bar, guests enjoy themselves with an interactive representation of the moon and through a telescope with the real world around them. It is a beautiful and typical example of the design agency's working method, which is always looking for the mutually reinforcing and ever-changing relationship between inside and outside.
The highest restaurant in the Benelux is located on the 58th floor, which was designed by Doepel Strijkers 360 degrees all around to reflect the changing colors of daylight. From the cool light of the north to the warm color glow of the setting sun. The so-called 'moonpods' in the restaurant are designed in that gradient color series, where small groups literally enjoy the highest level.
